About Vaughan College

A school built around the student.

Inspected by Ontario's Ministry of Education and founded in 2009, Vaughan College serves grades 8 through 12 in Woodbridge, combining small classes, dedicated teachers, and a clear path to university.

Our Story

How the school began.

Vaughan College was established in 2009 to give families in Woodbridge, Vaughan, and the surrounding York Region and Brampton communities a more personal kind of high-school education. From the beginning, the school was led by former principals and senior teachers who believed academic ambition and individual care could share the same classroom.

We are an Ontario Ministry of Education-inspected private school serving grades 8 through 12. We deliver the full Ontario curriculum alongside specialized STEM and Business, Technology & Mathematics programs, with preparation pathways for Advanced Placement and Cambridge International Examinations for students with their sights set further afield.

What hasn’t changed in more than fifteen years is the shape of the day. Classes stay small, so our teachers answer every question, close the gaps a student arrives with, and take their ambitions seriously. Free after-school tutoring is open to every student who wants it, and scheduling is flexible enough to meet your child where they are: full-time, part-time, night school, summer, online.

How We Teach

We have time for every student.

Our teachers were chosen for their depth in their subject and for their patience at the desk. They follow the Ontario curriculum, but they teach it conversationally, through debate, problem-solving, and the slow rebuilding of any foundation a student arrives without.

Our rooms are small enough that no student is anonymous. Our teachers offer help before a student has to ask for it, and give ambition the time and attention it deserves.

The dedicated teachers and small class sizes allowed for personalized attention, helping me bridge the gaps in my understanding.

What We Stand For

The values behind every decision we make.

These values guide how we teach, how we make decisions, and how we treat one another, in the classroom and in every conversation with a family.

  • The whole child

We balance academic work with the creative arts and critical thinking, so your child leaves understanding the world and their own place in it.
  • Curiosity, taken seriously

We take every student’s curiosity seriously. When your child asks a question, our teachers treat it as the heart of the lesson.
  • Respect for diverse cultures

We draw students from across the GTA and around the world, and that range strengthens what happens in the classroom.
  • A tight-knit community

Our school is small enough that teachers know parents by name, students know which teacher to find at which hour, and graduates still come back to visit.

Come See For Yourself

The best way to understand Vaughan College is to visit.

Walk the halls during a regular school day, sit in on a class, and meet the teachers your child would learn from. Tours are arranged by appointment throughout the year.
