Refund Policy.

This policy covers online courses, full-time enrolment, night school, summer school and part-time courses, and the terms for international students. Please read the section that matches how you are enrolling.

Online courses are non-refundable. As soon as you check out, we set up the student’s account, assign their teacher, and open the course.

If your plans change, we’ll help you switch to a different course instead. Write to us within seven days of your purchase and we’ll move the enrolment for free, as long as:

• the student hasn’t started any coursework in the first course, and
• the student has the prerequisite for the new course.

After seven days, or once the student has started coursework, we’ll consider a switch case by case, and an administrative fee may apply.

Not having a course’s prerequisite doesn’t qualify for a refund on its own. If that happens, we’ll help you move to a course the student can take.

Full-time tuition, the application fee, and the incidental fee are non-refundable, as set out in the enrolment agreement you sign when your child enrols.

If you withdraw your child, including before classes begin, tuition already paid is not refunded, and you remain responsible for the full tuition for the period you enrolled for, whether the full year or a single semester. Any instalments still owing become due right away.

If a student is asked to leave the school, tuition is not refunded.

Course fees are non-refundable, except where the school agrees otherwise in writing.

A refund may be considered in two cases: if you withdraw in writing before the course begins, or if we cancel the course. Once the course has begun, fees are non-refundable. An approved refund may have an administrative fee deducted, and may be prorated for attendance.

Not meeting a course’s prerequisite doesn’t qualify for a refund on its own.

• If a study permit is denied, you can request a refund of tuition, less a C$550 administration fee and subject to the Principal’s approval. Send us the original refusal letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the original Letter of Acceptance from Vaughan College.
• If a student withdraws for any other reason after the Letter of Acceptance is issued, tuition is not refunded.
• If a student is asked to withdraw for breaking school rules, tuition is not refunded.
• If a student’s immigration status changes during the school year, for example to permanent resident, we adjust tuition to match.

Refund and transfer requests must be made in writing, and timing matters. For a free online course switch, write to us within seven days of your purchase, before the student starts any coursework. For a night, summer, or part-time course, write to us before the course begins. To withdraw from full-time enrolment, write to the same address.

Send your request to accounts@vaughancollege.ca, and include the student’s name and the course or program the request relates to. We will confirm what happens next in writing.
