Why Vaughan College

Why families choose us for online.

  • Small online classes

Our 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio extends to our online classes, so your teacher knows you by name.

  • Ontario-certified teachers

Every course has a subject teacher who marks your work, answers your questions, and helps when you’re stuck.

  • Mix and match

Take an online credit alongside your in-person classes, or stack summer credits to free up a semester. However you mix them, it’s the same school and the same transcript.

  • Fast-track available

Most online courses can be done on a condensed schedule, whether you’re upgrading a mark, repeating a course, or working toward a university offer.

Online or In-Person

Not sure which to choose?

Online learning fits when you need

  • Flexible scheduling around work, athletics, or another school.
  • A single credit to upgrade, repeat, or reach ahead over the summer.
  • Learning from anywhere in the province (or anywhere with reliable internet, if you’re an international student).
  • A condensed timeline via fast-track on most credits.

In-person at our campus fits when you want

  • A full school day, with classmates and a daily routine.
  • Hands-on subjects like science labs, visual arts, and physical education.
  • The structure of a small, quiet classroom for students who learn better that way.
  • Direct access to guidance and after-school tutoring at our Woodbridge campus.

The Hybrid Option

Add the live classroom to select online courses.

Some of our online courses run alongside a live class in our classroom, and which ones changes each semester. When a course offers it, you’ll see a Live now tag on the course or a Hybrid toggle on its page. Turn it on and, for the weeks you want the room, join the same live in-person class your classmates are in, from anywhere in the world.

  1. Add it to your enrolment

Choose hybrid when you enrol, or add it later. That opens up the live class schedule for that course.
  2. Request a class

Pick the sessions you want from the schedule, at least a day ahead so your teacher opens the room.
  3. Join live

Drop into the real in-person class through Google Classroom: same teacher, same lesson, as it happens.

What it costs

Hybrid access is charged per class when you want the option now and then, or as a package if you plan to join often. We’ll share current rates when you enrol, and every request needs a day’s notice so your teacher can open the room.
